BIO
The band WWW was founded in Prague at the beginning of the nineties, at the time of the fall of the communist regime in the then Czechoslovakia. WWW was one of the first bands experimenting with rap in the Czech Republic. In later years, it started working with live instruments and moved away from classical rap production. In 2000, the band went on hiatus and its members pursued their other professions; founding musician Ondřej Anděra is a film director and lyricist Lubomír Typlt is a painter.
HIGHLIGHTS
WWW returned to the scene with their debut album Neurobeat in 2006 under the independent label BiggBoss. WWW chooses the path of presentation through original stylization and the definition of hip hop as a space for authenticity. Neurobeat was released as the second Czech dual disc, which also contains the band’s original video work. WWW’s visual work is also presented in major art galleries.
WWW’s music originally fuses the practices of hip hop, industrial, electronica and free composition. Lubomir Typlt’s lyrics provoke the listener to strain his imagination, their urgency enhanced by a wide range of poetic and aural devices. Ondřej Anděru’s lyrics make use of the rhythmic possibilities of language in the abstract.
WWW have headlined major music festivals in the Czech Republic and Slovakia several times, such as Colours of Ostrava and Pohoda Festival.
WWW have released three critically acclaimed studio albums in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. They have been nominated for several music awards – such as Anděl and won the prestigious Revolver Revue art award. They have represented the Czech cultural background for the Czech Centres in Slovakia, Poland, Bulgaria, the Netherlands, France – for example at the festivals “Eurosonic Noorderslag 2009” and in Paris at the music festival “Féte de la musique 2009”.

WWW have been approached by and have successfully supported the following artists during their existence: The Goats, Sinéad O’Connor, Antipop Consortium, Dj Hudson Mohawke, Boys Noize, Public Enemy, Zebra Katz, Young Fathers, Dälek…
