Zoomka vol.4: Conversations about how a film is made

The music video is a genre in itself.
A music video is not only a marketing tool for the performer, but also a playground for filmmakers – a space where it is allowed to try things that would hardly pass in a film.
The work of director Simon Seriš has a clearly recognizable handwriting. Simon graduated from the Secondary Art School in Trenčín, and has been actively involved in camera work, editing and directing since he was 15 years old. At the age of 20, he is one of the most sought-after music video directors, and under his Saymon production label he produces music videos of successful names of the Slovak, Czech and international music scene. Saymon has collaborated with Gleb, Smack, Korben Dallas, Fallgrapp, Scrufizzer and many others. He has made no secret of the fact that in the future he would like to approach filmmaking, and is currently already working on his first documentary.
In the lecture we will learn how Saymon’s music videos are created, what inspires them and how the collaboration with musicians takes place.
