AUTUMNIST (SK)

A hypnotic blend of the most contemporary electronica with trans-genre overlays as a manifesto. In a broad spectrum mix, AUTUMNIST combines ambient with hip-hop or breakbeat, hi-tech practices with lo-fi pop or bizarre cinematic atmosphere with alien folklore. AUTUMNIST live is an impressive five-piece band, the electronics are complemented by a live rhythm section with bass and drums, a guitarist and alternating saxophone and clarinet, along with the support of synchronized video projection.
AUTUMNIST is a project of Vlado Ďurajka and originally under the name ABUSE he released several EPs such as Silt, 4th Floor Sinking (2001) or Sleepfields (2002). The critically and audience well received debut album The Great Outdoors (2005) was followed by a number of concerts. The eponymous album The Autumnist (2009, Deadred/Starcastic) was critically acclaimed as Album of the Year 2009 at the Radio_Head Awards. On Sound Of Unrest (2013) there is a noticeable trend of a slight move away from electronica towards a more organic sound. The band has appeared at several international festivals and supported well-known projects such as Recoil, Laika, Cinematic Orchestra and Mouse on Mars.
The current line-up of the band: Vlado Ďurajka (electronics, keyboards, sampler), Mates Homola (drums, trumpet), Martin Turzík (electric bass), Pavol Hubinák (electric guitar), Peter Kohout (saxophones, clarinet).
