JANO DOE (SK)
Jano Doe is a solo project of curator, cultural manager and instrument designer Katarína Gatialová. She is a member of the live-coding Collective or the noise groups “Inocenc” and “Augie’s sonic stable”. Her live performances take the form of live-patching – all signal paths are created on her self-made modular synthesizer right in front of the audience, combined with no-input mixing board binding and noisy tape loops. Signal generation and shaping are demonstrated on an oscilloscope screen, and the lo-fi aesthetic is occasionally complemented by lighting effects in the form of a burning module or power supply.
In her solo work, she explores the limits of human hearing through the extreme use of sound frequencies, and mocks noise emissions.
Wailing and poorly combined rhythms. Psychotic noise without structure and feeling. All this coming from an instrument that resembles a trough rather than a modular synthesizer. Jano Doe is a schizophrenic solo project, ruled by weak nerves and the menstrual cycle. We recommend not to tease before the performance, both the sound equipment and your hearing may be destroyed.
Jano Doe will perform at the festival CULTURAL EVENT 2021
