BARBORA TOMÁŠKOVÁ (EN)

Barbora Tomášková is a young Slovak artist and builder of musical instruments, a graduate of the Department of Composition and Conducting at the Faculty of Music and Dance at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava.
By combining live-electronics with acoustic instruments, she creates soundscapes in which she lets her intuition run free. She builds her sound world with her own hand-carved sounds, as the musical instruments she uses include sound objects that she has made herself. She also processes the sound of these objects live. In addition to her solo performance, she works for classical music ensembles, which mirrors the principles of linking the acoustic world with live-electronics.
